Wizards Sophomore Captain Andrew Marchese won his second consecutive Section 9 Championship, becoming only the second wrestler in school history to win multiple Section 9 titles. Marchese also set a school record by becoming the youngest Washingtonville Wrestler to record 100 wins. He has now qualified to compete for the New York State Championship in Albany. Marchese is looking to become the fourth NYS medalist in school history for the Wizards. Also placing for the Wizards were the following wrestlers:

99lbs – 7th Grader, Mason Ketcham – 3rd Place – Mason capped off a great rookie season by setting the school record for Varsity wins by a 7th grader (35) and becoming the youngest Wizard Wrestler ever to place at the Sectional Tournament.
285lbs – Junior, Fredy Garcia – 4th Place – After a stellar breakout season, Fredy places at the Sectional Tournament for the first time in his career
120lbs – Junior, Austin Maddox – 5th Place – Austin also placed for the first time in his wrestling career at the Sectional Tournament, in what could have been considered one of the deepest weight classes in the tournament.

Great Job Wrestlers! GO WIZARDS!!
