At this point no one has informed me of any scheduling conflicts regarding missing practice over the holiday break. Therefore, the expectation is that there will not be any issues with attendance at practice during the holiday break. Washingtonville wrestling coaches appreciate those who communicate in advance when it comes to missing practice. Disappearing acts and no shows will not be tolerated.

I’ve attached our line-up of eligible wrestlers to compete against Warwick Valley tomorrow. All wrestlers on the line-up sheet must be present for dress checks and weigh-ins in the morning. We will be having a study hall before weigh-ins.

Jayce Goldberg (132lbs), Tim Hewitt (145lbs), Anthony DaSilva (189lbs), and Andrew “Moose” Icobelli (285lbs) each won their respective weight classes at the JV Wizards Wrestling Tournament. This is a great accomplishment for our young Wizards. Also placing were:

Vincent Garcia – 3rd Place – 110lbs
Alex Lassalle – 3rd Place – 160lbs
Stanley Moldoch – 3rd Place – 172lbs

Captain Andrew Marchese continued his dominance by taking home the 132lb championship at the Wrangle in the Plains tournament. Andrew, who is currently ranked #1 in New York State, has not been scored upon all season! Captain Jake McVey placed 3rd in the tournament, While Captain Dominic Gennero took 6th place. GO WIZARDS!!

The Washingtonville Wizards Wrestling team crowned 3 champions at the Bethlehem individual tournament. Captain Andrew Marchese (132lbs), Captain Dominic Gennaro (145lbs), and Justin Callahan (215lbs) each took home individual titles. The Wizards took 4th place out of 12 teams. Also placing for the Wizards:

Captain Jake McVey – 2nd Place – 215lbs
Kristjan Culaj – 2nd Place – 285lbs
Ibrahim AlJamal – 3rd Place – 152lbs
